Flightseeing
Victoria Panorama

Victoria Panorama

Our most popular tour departing from Victoria harbour, this half-hour flight is an ideal introduction to seaplane aviation. Your flight will include spectacular vistas of downtown Victoria, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca with the Olympic Mountains in the distance. Photographers especially will enjoy unique views of the buildings ringing the harbour and grand houses perched on the rugged coastline. The splash-down landing is always a highlight.

Islands Extravaganza

Depart from Victoria harbour and enjoy a meandering flight across the Canadian Gulf Islands and the American San Juan Islands. View picturesque villages and farms, sailboats anchored in tiny coves, and cottages perched by the water’s edge. Orca whales, sealions, and bald eagles are often seen on this tour.

Rugged Mountains and The Wild West Coast

Depart Victoria harbour and cross the Strait of Juan de Fuca to explore the towering Olympic Mountains. See the alpine meadows of Hurricane Ridge and the glaciers of Mount Olympus. Return by flying along the rugged west coast of Vancouver Island, where surf pounds on the rocky shore. This is our most scenic tour.

Fly n’ Dine Butchart Gardens

Victoria’s most unique dining experience. Your evening departs from Victoria harbour and includes a visit to Butchart Gardens, a specially selected three-course dinner at the “Dining Room Restaurant” of Butchart Gardens, a scenic drive in a grand old Daimler limousine, and spectacular flightseeing by seaplane.

4a — A Blooming Afternoon

Depart Victoria by Daimler at 3pm. Tour the Gardens from 3:30 until 5pm. Dine from 5 until 7pm and fly back to downtown Victoria at 7pm.

4b — Gardens by Moonlight

Depart Victoria by seaplane at 6:45pm. Dine from 7:15 until 9pm. After dinner enjoy an hour’s stroll through the floodlit Gardens before your Daimler returns you to your hotel.

4 hours. Available Mon, Wed, Fri, operating from June 15 to September 15. Includes: admission to Butchart Gardens, 3 course dinner, Daimler limousine ride, seaplane ride and gratuities.

Whale Watching

As the world becomes more overpopulated and the planet’s wilderness disappears, the chance to see a magnificent animal in the wild has never been more appealing, or more important. Africa has its elephants and lions, Australia has its barrier reef, and Victoria, just a short seaplane flight from downtown Vancouver, has Orca (or Killer) Whales.

Orca (Killer) Whale

Our local waters are home to 3 resident pods of Orca, (J,K & L) totalling over 90 whales, which feed on the annual migration of millions of salmon that come in from the open Pacific Ocean to spawn. By straddling a narrow section of Haro Strait, Orca dine on an elegant and unending seafood buffet. Along with fishing, the whales spend the long summer days relaxing, teaching their young about breaching and ‘spyhopping’ (coming half-way out of the water to look around). All of this activity makes for wonderful wildlife viewing!

‘Transient’ whales mainly feed on marine mammals, such as seals, sealions, porpoise and even other whales! Transients range from California to Alaska.

Our 3 1/2-hour tours are led by experienced Naturalists, who have developed a great amount of knowledge concerning our surrounding marine environment, and its inhabitants. As members of the Whale Watching Operators Association of the Northwest, we abide by best practice guidelines.

Whale Watching tours take place from April to October, and are 3 1/2 hours in duration. We are pleased to offer several departures daily, on the most diverse selection of vessels in the harbour. These include rigid hulled inflatable boats (also known as Zodiacs) for those passengers wishing for the adventurous ‘upclose and personal’ experience. The high-speed luxury open scarab takes whalewatching to a new level for the discerning traveler. Enclosed vessels are available, for those looking for a more comfortable, element protected experience. All vessels are equipped with ‘Hydrophones’, or underwater acoustic systems, which allow whale vocalizations to be heard.
